The Jeep Wrangler offers four engines, so you can power your journey the way you see fit. The Bronco, on the other hand, gives you the option of three EcoBoost® engines.

You’ll be able to stay in touch whether you’re right around the corner or way off the grid. Both SUVs come with very similar infotainment systems to keep you connected on the go. They could come equipped with:

Only the Wrangler is available with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, which lets you and up to eight of your co-adventurers pair their devices wherever and whenever. It features a 50-foot radius too, so you can connect while sitting around a campfire, resting in your tent, or lounging in a hammock.

There’s nothing quite like an open-air SUV. You can feel the splash of mud, a crisp morning breeze, and the warmth of the afternoon sun. The Wrangler and the Bronco each offer a removable roof as well as removable doors.

Only the Wrangler’s windshield is available with Corning® Gorilla® Glass, which reinforces the windshield and creates a strong defense against chips, cracks, and fractures caused by kicked-up debris on the trails.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and the Ford Bronco Wildtrak share the following all-terrain performance features:

• Front and rear locking differentials
• Up to 35-inch tires
• Underbody skid plates

The Wildtrak may come with an Advanced 4x4 that’s more tuned for off-road conditions, but it’s nothing compared to the decades of off-road knowledge that’s gone into the Rock-Trac® 4x4 system of the Rubicon. It has a 4:1 low-gear ratio that’s ideal for crawling over uneven ground and big boulders.

Electronic Front Sway Bar Disconnect is one all-terrain performance feature that’s only available with the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. When you’re pushing the limits of what’s possible, it helps this SUV answer the call. It remotely disconnects the front sway bar, allowing the wheels to drop and compress. This improves suspension articulation on rough trails.

The Wrangler vs. Bronco rivalry heated up in the 1980s. Both manufacturers released their most luxurious versions of the SUVs to date. Drivers demanded more comfort, and Jeep gave it to them. The Wrangler was the ideal mix of rugged and refined, while the Bronco was too trail-focused for common drivers and too road-focused for hardcore enthusiasts.

Demand for the Bronco dried up, and Ford was forced to retire it in 1996. That made the Wrangler the winner of the first round and the enduring choice for explorers everywhere.
